Fasteners
come in all shapes and forms and you need to find the
right one for the job or you'll find your project just
won't hold together (literally). Fasteners are
made from different materials and different styles.
Galvanized steel fasteners are required for external
fittings, if you want to hide the fasteners (as in an
outdoor deck situation) you may opt to get hidden deck
fasteners which are a great aesthetically pleasing solution
to the traditional nail in the decking board scenario.

Hidden Deck Fasteners - Eliminate '' nail pops'' while
automatically spacing the deck boards at 3/32''! Just cut a slot into the edge
of the boards (where they cross the joist) with a biscuit joiner, apply a thin
bead of adhesive to the top of the joists, and install the EbTy '' clip.'' The
clip is then screwed in at a 45° angle using the Swaneze stainless steel screws
(included). EbTy is highly recommended when using hardwoods such as teak or
man-made building material such as Trex®. Fasteners made of UV-resistant
polypropylene.
